A Q&A with Jen Hilts, from LOTUS Financial Partners - Our May Creating Connections Host

Jen Hilts, LOTUS Financial Partners

Tell us a little bit about your business.

While the world of financial planning is something that everyone should take advantage of, there are a few specific groups my practice is built around. Families with young children, pre-retiree couples 2 yrs from retirement, federal employees, & those serving in the Colorado National Guard. I’ve centered my practice around having a comfortable place to review the benefits available to my clients.

What makes you passionate about what you do?

My parents had me start investing in Junior High. By the time High School came around, I was buying and selling mutual funds and stocks. Then when the Roth IRA came out in 1998, I was telling everyone in my family. “This is the best thing since sliced bread! You gotta get one of these!” This fueled my passion for educating people.

What is you enjoy to do for fun?

You may find me covered in sunscreen hitting the links (out on the golf course with my 5 and 8 year old boys), gardening or grilling out in the summer and on the slopes, building snowmen or crafting up a new savory soup in the winter. The fall, however, is one of the best seasons, and you may have to hunt me down somewhere abroad in a small European town off the beaten path.

Why do you enjoy being involved with Creating Connections?

My nickname used to be ‘The Networking Diva.’ I adore connecting people. There is a great sense of joy and pride from being able to find common ground among us and make an introduction to someone when they need it the most.
