Meet November's Hostess: Caitlin Scolari - Realtor with COMPASS

Updated: Nov 16, 2023

What makes you passionate about what you do?

Helping my clients realize their dream - and the benefits - of home ownership! Sometimes it's going from living in a small rental for years and finally getting more room and the ability to be creative with their space, sometimes it's selling their home and seeing a huge return on investment that allows them to pursue new adventures. Being a part of that is a privilege, and I don't take it for granted!

Do you have an ideal client?

My ideal client is anyone who wants a patient guide and advocate through their real estate process. Whether it's their first purchase, selling and moving up, selling and downsizing, or handling a sale from a trust or estate, if they want a calm and confident agent who will walk them through each step, I think we'd be a great fit.

Can you describe a success story that involves your business?

In the Spring of 2023, I worked with a woman who was selling her family home - her mother had recently become incapacitated and they were selling the house to pay for her mother's care, so getting as much as we could for the house was incredibly important to them. The house had great bones but was quite dated. I did multiple market analyses to pin down our price, and brought in a junk hauler, cleaner, stager (shout out to Tanya Caughey!), and professional photographer. We listed on the lower side for the neighborhood, given the dated fixtures of the home. With the beautiful staging and photography, plus multi-channel marketing efforts and an open house, we ended up with over 15 offers and sold the home for about $50,000 over our list price!

What would be your perfect day?

It would start with a yoga class, followed by a bagel and coffee, then a trip to the zoo or museum (depending on the weather). Lunch and beers at a brewery, then a walk through our neighborhood, and finishing with a meal cooked by anyone but me. :)

In the season's spirit of gratitude and gathering, I'm thrilled to offer a free yoga class this month. Whether you have a big Thanksgiving gathering to plan and prepare, you're traveling to see family, or you're keeping it low-key this year, I am honored to offer you a chance to slow down, breathe, and connect - before whatever the rest of 2023 holds.
